I'm just a simple girl from rural small-town Minnesota who loves God and loves people. I never would have guessed that I would be living in Thailand one day, walking with and serving prostitutes and refugees. But here I am!
I came to Thailand at the end of December 2011 with Iris Ministries after completing Heidi Baker's school of missions in Mozambique. As soon as stepped foot on Thai soil I knew that it was home. When I returned in February 2012 I didn't know where I would live or who my friends would be. God said "go" so I went. It's was simple as that. After some wandering around the country I found my way back to Bangkok and connected with Newsong Church, and the rest is history.
I'm not fond of the term "missionary." Yes that is technically what I am, but it seems to imply that I am somehow different than you. And that couldn't be further from the truth. I become friends with people and "do life" with them. It's not complicated. And I hope you're doing the same!
If you want to get a better idea of what this looks like, read my 'Journal' section where I recently started documenting my days in more detail. The 'Blog' section is for more well-rounded thoughts, of which have been few and far between lately. Haha.

I'll leave you with a quote from Mother Theresa:
Be kind and merciful
let no one ever come to you
without coming away better and happier.
Be the loving expression
of God's kindness.
Be kind and merciful

without coming away better and happier.
Be the loving expression
of God's kindness.
